Making good removed chimney breast

Hi all,

I've got a bit of a dilemma.

I've recently removed a chimney breast from the loft space and first floor (stack had been removed historically). Most the soot and loose material has come off which is good and now it's time to make good and get the wall skimmed over.

Sadly, the tricky bit is the depth, in places, the removed area sits back 90-100mm from the finished plasterwork either side. I was going to commit with a strong sand and cement mix to build it up but I've never heard of a finish being 100mm in places after however many coats!

It's already had one coat of SBR cement slurry put on

Any ideas from your experience?

Fill it out with bricks, lay on edge if necessary. I justwould drill and plug the wall to take screws to key the new work in

Looks like you will have a sloping wall if you fill it ?
I would build in a false very shallow breast and make a feature of it. Mirror maybe?
