MDF Floating Shelves, 50mm Thick 4800mm long 375mm Depth - Help / Ideas Pls

    Fair enough mate. Just think of something you can use the board for and everything will seem better! If the customer refuses to see sense then walk away mate.

    Evo - think your problem defies the laws of physics...

    I've got around this before using a highly tensioned skeleton, faced off top bottom and front, but that was for 3m span and not so deep. I think a 4.8m span is just too much....

    My suggestion: persude her to go with a more architectural look....

    knock up a long shallow tray and cast her a lovely concrete slab to chase into the wall!!!!??? She'll never know after a bit of tetrion and paint!

    erm.... not sure she'll go for that as it wouldn't be in her deisgner magazine!!!!

    i think deposit back and move on........

    There's good advice on here - angle brackets and resined studs all good ways.

    I think the only way for you to go is ......walk away.....

    Tell her to call back when mankind has developed the technology! She sounds obssessed!

    I thank everyone for there advice and I may of managed to persuade her today by spending a bit more money and she will get it done.
