I intend to fit a zappi charger [ because fitted both with pen and 30Ma trip ] , cable length almost 10 metres all on outside wall, NYY-J ; on the consumer unit are 2 spare 32amp MCB but on the case it is marked to use SW which I understand to mean switch ; what does this mean ; don't want to connect this up before I call in the local sparkie to check my work is correct
Good luck. You won’t get a sparky to check your work. Get them to design and install the circuit : that’s their job
What case mentions to use ‘SW’? Does it actually say “SWA” ? (As in use Steel Wired Armoured cable to the charger?)
no,on the case sw is bracketed below the 2 mcb's ; never seen that in 30 years of working on electrics
Ah.. this probably indicates that these two Mcbs are being fed by the main switch only and not connected to the RCD..
