I am replacing some of my light switches with stainless steel ones and putting in metal back boxes, no back boxes currently exist as property is victorian.
Both the metal back box and the stainless steel switch have an earth terminal, which one do I connect to?
I would imagine that when the front plate is screwed to the back box it doesn't matter as they are effectively one component but there has to be a correct answer?

I always terminate the cable cpc to the switch plate and then put a link between the switch plate and the terminal in the back box.

Yep, both should be linked when using metal face plates. Doesn't matter with plastic ones, as long as one of the lugs is fixed, which they always are...
