Mixing plastic timber batten with wood decking

I was wondering whether anyone had any experience with mixing plastic timber battens with wooden decking? Or whether anyone can advise whether it's sensible to do.

I have a low profile deck on a concrete base. (It's a very sloped garden so building up he decking too high isn't really an option). I've taken up the old decking and the old battens laid over the concrete where severely rotten due to moisture. So I was thinking whether it's possible/sensible to replace the wooden battens with plastic timber and attach the wooden boards to that. My main concern is will it hold screws properly and will the expansion and contraction be significantly more than wood?

    Any thoughts much appreciated.
