    Hi guys,

    Hope someone can help.

Looking for the most cost effective vertical wooden cladding for a summer house.

I don’t like shiplap or feather edge and have been advised against cheap T and G as the gaps never line up and is not that durable.

All the really nice stuff like cedar or larch seam to cost the earth and given this is a summer house not an episode of grand designs it seams like a waste.

Anybody know any other options which I could consider?

    Thank you for help
    Matt

T&g pine will be your cheapest option unless you like the look of OSB.

    Thanks eleccng.

I prefer something plain like a plain board if possible. It will be stained dark oak colour.

    Thank you for your help.

It's a case of you get what you pay for. The cheap stuff is carp and the nice stuff costs a lot more ... pretty much like life in general.
As Publilius Maximus said in 20 BC, A thing is worth whatever anyone is prepared to pay for it.

    From my local supplier.
    Log lap £25.20 per m2
    Shiplap £13.75 per m2
    T&G £12 per m2

Whoever advised you about t&g not lining up, whatever that means is talking out the back of their head.
