Stud wall has plywood sheet within, where radiator used to be. Lower fixings will go in to this no problem.

1200mm towel rail upper fixings however will be just in plasterboard. The towel rail projects 150mm.

Will Gripit plaster board fixings be enough? Or better to cut out wall and add some noggins?

    Many thanks!

In my opinion the gripits will be enough unless the radiator is pulled hard away from the wall at the top. E.g. children climbing.
If you want to make it fool proof, add noggins.

You will find that if towels are on there, someone getting out of te bath or shower will pull at the towel resulting in a small shock to te upper fixings. Repeat that a coule of hundred times and they will start to work loose. OPen up te wall and get an extra noggin inserted.

Thanks all. Think the noggins are the best approach, best find my plastering trowel.
