    Hi

Had a combi installed bout 6 months ago. The condensate pipe runs to the outside then to the sink waste pipe.

Have now realised this is in the way outside and would rather it was inside.

Can I do this myself or is this for a gas safe boiler person only?

    Thanks!

There should be a trap in the boiler to provide a seal (against exhaust gas escaping via the drain pipe). So you are safe to move it as you see fit.

If the boiler was installed 6 months ago ,you should ask the installer to move it. It is part of their installation and you shouldn't ammended it in any way ,the condensate evacuation is technically part of the flue system.

With no knowledge of your skill set you may inadvertently effect the warranty of the boiler. Ask for it to be moved indoors.

You are outside the gas and flue exhaust path, so no worries about being gas registered.
Just start your pipe route modifications beyond the case and reconnect it into your waste.
So long as you can cope with the new simple connections it will also avoid any chance of the condensate freezing and blocking.
Theoreticallky you could be invalidating any warranty given by the installers, but they would have a hard task of justifying it.

  6. Agree, as long as it is done properly and routed into a waste pipe there is no reason it should invalidate warranty. Done poorly and wrongly then yes of course it could.

And you don’t need to be gas safe registered to work on your own boiler either! Just need to be competent

It’s considered part of the flue!!!!

As per Nigel, it is technically potentially a flue path.
If it IS possible and practical to run the condense inside, why did the installers not do so? Running the pipe outside is the least attractive of all options, and should only be done so where there is no way to complete inside.
There must be a "fall" to outside - is that possible with your proposed route?
