The boat people have already committed a crime by breaking into our country which is illegal. The only answer is push them back into French waters and let their French escorts pick them up.
 
It would probably help if the UN aid workers in the camps were not equipping these people with maps and information about how to get to Britain, and telling them that we are rich pickings.
Sadly, this is exactly what is happening

Also the woke lefty human rights lawyers, who are illegally teaching them a script of lies to come out with to get accepted.
All legal aid paid for by us should also stop as well as free translators. If they can afford 3 or 4 grand to get on a boat, they can pay their own lawyer and translator.
They have committed illegally breaking into our country, therefore they should be kicked straight out, do not pass go, do not collect a penny.

Would you really employ him? He tells lies, cheats and has no regard for laws. Has not the courage to fight, and would have ponced off his relatives but they were too poor to carry him.

War, tyrannical government's, etc, people don't leave their homes and communities unless the need to, it's not something they do easily, and you make some strange assumptions about his character, he tells lies? immigration officers know all the lies, under international law anyone applying for asylum has to prove or can be legally sent back.

But yes, immigration is the superpower of every growing economy, that's just an economic fact, paying to prevent immigrants from working is economic madness and has, as we are seeing with the UK economy, the opposite effect.

I have to disagree with you on this Alan.
Immigration is not the superpower. Those at the top like to claim it is, because it suits their businesses to have an oversupply in the workforce to keep wages down.
This country has one key problem (apart from all the ***** generated by Westminster) and that is 'too many mouths'. We cannot afford the number of consumers that there are already. We couldn't afford them when the population was 45 million. Now it is 60 million, and our GDP has not gone up by 33% above inflation.

Yes Abdul tells lies if he says he is fleeing persecution. He was not being persecuted in a DP camp in France. Or anywhere else on his journey across Europe. He could have stopped in Turkey and been free of persecution. He could have looked for a job anywhere else in Europe.

Asylum is a human right, the UK government changed the law(against international convention) to make asylum seekers who arrive by 'non standard means'(a boat) to 'illegal migrant', this was not very clever because they are still asylum seekers and are processed as asylum seekers and we still choose to accept 80% or whatever it is.

What gets my goat, and why a lot of the stuff posted in this thread is complete nonsense, apart from the bits that are just incorrect, is that migrants arriving by boat is a tiny number compared to the overall number of migrants the UK accepts without anyone giving it a passing thought, so while millions are ripping the **** clean out of it the average Brit saves their hate for a tiny number of very visible(thanks to GB News) real desperate people.

There is no such thing as 'too many mouths', individual numbers of the population contribute more, or receive more, those that work and pay tax into the system support those that don't, those that don't are a net drain, this is productivity, children below working age, OAP's and the unemployed are the biggest drain, migrants, given the chance work often on low wage and contribute, that is if you let them, you can easily deamonise them by preventing that, it's the quickest way to drain your productivity, the answer is not to pay them not to work, to turn drain into contribution is just a matter of letting them work, if any country has a higher number of productive people than unproductive in the right balance it has a working economy.

But I don't think I'm going to change your mind with that, how about Afghan's that served with the British Army? now arriving by small boat apparently, would you accommodate them?
