Hi, I live 2nd in a row of terrace houses with a shared mains water supply. We have just had a new combi boiler fitted to replace a very old and inefficient back boiler. The plumber used the stopcock in our cellar to turn the water off to our property only, so the work could be done and flushed the system/radiators so it all worked correctly. The neighbour in the first house has a stopcock which turns water off for the full row and is claiming that when the plumber put my water back on it has caused a leak in their bathroom, due to extra water pressure and x amount of damage. They didn’t bring it up with the plumber, or ask for liability insurance details. They don’t seem to have contacted their insurance company or had a plumber visit to check the issue, but have sorted it themselves, but blame us for the damage. Could our new plumbing work cause them this sort of issue with pipes/taps in their bathroom?
