Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Looking for some advice re a new shower tray.

The old shower tray underside around the waste hole was dead smooth, almost like it had been sanded in the factory.
The new shower tray underside around the waste is not smoth at all, has significant ridges and pits in the stone resin, makes me feel the trap is not going to seal very well, if it all.

This tray is being mounted flat on a cement base in a ground floor bathroom and as such trap will be completely inaccessible once down.

Should i return the tray for a different / better one?

    Thanks

    Smooth it off.
    Used a power sander, gently.

Great thanks, that was the idea I was coming round to. Was also thinking I might try and fill the larger pitting with some epoxy based glue (Araldite) before sanding. If that is a big no no then let me know.

    Thanks again

    Rob
