New opening created in gable end brick wall. Had to get planning permission for this as its a flat. Wanted to create to opening so get better view over countryside. Current window in kitchen, nice view but cant see around fully. Thought this was a good idea to get new opening. Think I will order a replacement window for the bathroom , which is to the left hand so both windows look similar. Gable end prior to fitting window opening. Builder did the brickwork, I made the temporary frame using CLS timber and OSB3 board until new window is ordered. Single leaf lintel fitted over opening. A lot of the bricks had to be cut out as the perp joints were all over. Opening size created for best fit. Slight crack on right-hand side, builder said it was OK not to use acrow props. Did prop up using timber prop. Definitely going to use acrow for internal wall. Window is about 1250mm wide. Row of half soldiers were laid using old bricks with mortar. Used acid brick cleaner to clean over anything off bricks. Inside kitchen. Waiting for next week to break through, its a wimpy no-fines construction so quite thick walls to break through. SE advised to use 2-3 pre-stressed lintels for internal wall.
