I agree but how do we get out of this situation?

You seem to be saying that you can't legislate against bigotry which I agree with but also I think it shouldn't be allowed to influence law making in as much as it must also be a secular society.

Do you think the back lash is what we are getting post 9/11?

Ah the penny’s dropped

No, I swear I've read article yesterday, just do not remember exactly where and today, searching for it again for you to see- in the same pickle, as Yahoo member asking

Where did you read the article?

You are sure that it was that mosque.

Not just another mosque with the same name?

That isn't really helping your argument Alv mate.
I'm not making an argument, just don't see it sensible, to be jumping on to willing to discuss issues frankly upon as to call those racists. Discussing isn't behaviour. Extremist behaviour, by rejecting discussion or culture of host nation is called freedom right?...
Apple's and pears Chip

These claims about the Al-Noor mosque in Christchurch are absolutely proving the point that many have lost utterly the ability to filter and grade information.

Referencing our earlier comments I think the widespread accessibility of the Internet in the last twenty years and the increased media coverage and indeed social media itself on items that are related to behaviour influenced by the Internet has done more to damage society than improve it, whether we're all conversing on a forum or not. If a frothy loony stood on a chair in your local, ranting and raving with a swastika in one hand and a copy of Mein Kampf in the other about the merits of the Jewish community, he'd be ejected without delay, but on the infinite Internet, he finds countless places to espouse his views, some amongst like minded loonies, which then in turn begins to slowly grow and snowball, to possibly lead to some of the atrocities we've discussed on here. I think in creating a monster, you need a way to control it and rein it in before it gets out of hand, which is where we seem to be struggling now.

No-one is jumping on you Alvy.

Its just you have made a very strong statement on the Al-Noor mosque explaining the attack as the place is a hotbed of ISIS recruitment.

Surely you can see how these stories get legs based on incorrect info.

So you are saying there has been a global conspiracy to remove any reference to the Al-Noor mosque in Christchurch being a hotbed of radicalisation for ISIS?

You know how ridiculous that sounds right.
Exactly.
Well, I'm sure it was some AU publication, the two droned "Australians" named, dot necessarily worldwide but Australian cesorship

This is a problem, should we try, do we have the right and indeed can we censor the internet?

Exactly.

Garbage mate.

Neil Prakash the guy you linked to being killed is not even dead.

But once the idea has got in your head instead of accepting perhaps you have not got correct info suddenly its a global conspiracy to silence the "truth"?

There are Aussies and New Zealanders fighting for ISIS.

I have no doubt one or some of those visited the mosque in Christchurch.

But that is a way away from the mosque being the source of their radicalisation.

The NF for example recruited at many football grounds in the 70s. West Ham, Chelsea, Millwall etc.

Does that justify or even explain someone strolling in now and shooting 50 men women and children?

Exactly.

If nationals of any country choose to go into a conflict zone on any side and get killed then that is their choice.
Incidentally does anyone know what happened to the Internationists who fought in the Spanish Civil war after that conflict finished? George Orwell obviously became a famous writer but were they prosecuted when they went back home?

No we can’t censor the internet and neither should we, otherwise who would make the decision on what we have access to ? Yourself perhaps ?

No but as society we have lost the ability to sieve info.

Reference your own like above for Alvy's claim of the Al-Noor mosque having been the source of radicalisation for senior ISIS recruits.
