Scotch pies and square sliced sausage are lovely, you need to go up to Scotland though, to get the square sliced out of the butchers. Supermarket stuff is carp. Bells scotch pies are not too bad if you can get them from the supermarket occasionally The black pudding up there is also a hundred times better without all the big gobules in it.
From the Lorne sausage recipe site "The cheapest of the lot are made of mystery meat, and lots of fat, so they will be exactly half the size they are to begin with after frying." Some have a meat to fat ratio of 60 /40. The first time I had it, the put it on the plate with a fish slice, it slid across the plate on to the tray. You could get rid of things like PTFE, WD40 and just fry up a Lorne Sausage .... Across the bridge we eat faggots much the same recipe as Haggis but with caul over the top
A Glasgow kiss is a headbutt. A Glasgow sandwich is a piece, which sandwiches are called in Scotland.
Black pudding, Charles Macleod Stornoway black pudding, nothing finer. https://www.charlesmacleod.co.uk/
Never tried it from there to my knowledge, have always went to a good local butchers wherever I have been staying and bought from there.
There a list of stockists at bottom of their site. https://www.charlesmacleod.co.uk/pages/find-a-stockist
Have you ever had a full Scottish breakfast with white pudding.....Suet pudding with sultanas, all mixed in with the fry-up. It's actually quite tasty!
Buy her something like plonk or flowers. Keep lines of communication open as you have to live next door to her. Just be cool about it but if she is not reflecting the good will then you know you tried and stuff it. She almost certainly have other problems going on and you got the flack.
Sounds like you been more than reasonable, I would still tread carefully as your going to living next door to her for a while and we don't know this woman's state of mind
