Just installed some new chrome mixer taps upstairs in the bathroom & en-suite sinks which have 10mm flexi's fitted as standard, the hot supply comes direct from the combi boiler, cold mains direct.

Whenever you turn on these taps there is a loud noise as if the pressure is too much for the 10mm pipework, the noise happens whether you use the mixer or hot or cold on their own.

The bath's upstairs which come off the same water supplies are all on 15mm flexi's and there are no noises at all.

My downstairs taps which are on 15mm pipework does not have any noise at all.

Why these modern taps come with 10mm flexi's is beyond me ?

How can I rid this loud noise ???

Fit an adjustable pressure reducer, one that goes to 1/2 a bar or less if possible, as you don't know what pressure you need to reduce the noise, test while you adjust. Either fit on the incoming mains or fit 2, one the hot and one on the cold to the basin.

    Or fit decent taps.

I take it they are quarter turn taps..? or monoblock.

That's what happens when you try to do things on the cheap Pikey. get some decent taps rather than buying cheap chinese rubbish off EBay.

I bought Oak vanity units and the taps came with it, for the price of the Oak I would have expected decent taps.
