I use onboard GPU but i dont game much on pc these days. JC3 is what i like. Plays fine with onboard GPU.
You play video games too? I'm still pretty surprised that DrB and KIAB play enough computer games to warrant specialist components. I'm not judging. Modern games seem like a perfectly reasonable recreation for adults, and I can see how a flight simulator could be a relaxing way to unwind in the evening. I just expected this forum to kick off with Raspberry PIs and arduinos, not joysticks and video game cards.
It's one of those things. I don't need 'specialist' components but they are good to have, suppose it classes as a hobby. Spend money on what you enjoy.
Sure. Everyone needs to unwind. With hindsight it's pretty obvious. The people here will be practical people. Their first instinct will be to take a screwdriver to something, see how it works and they'll be unafraid to change things. I don't play them because learning how to play modern games looks pretty intimidating. Asteroids didn't need a tutorial.
That's one thing I don't like about newer electronics. Years back I could repair the TV, radio and an assortment of items. Now everything is designed to be 'thrown-away'. A prime example, I have a 30+ year old Dualit toaster. It's had two of the heating elements replaced and still toasts toast. If I brought one now I doubt I'd even be able to open it without breaking it. I got it at a car boot sale too.

Cheers Kiab, never thought to go to tools, I usually just zoom around using the mouse and streetview.
