Any ideas on how much to charge on a daily basis, building a octagon gazebo with half filled in panels with a shingle covered roof. Also has a decking floor covering.

Surely you must know your own day rate? Mine is the same whatever I am doing. I never work on a day rate but know what it is for pricing. Can't you have a rough workout of how many days to do it bung another on for ballaches and tell them thats the price. I wouldnt ever employ anyone on a day rate as anyone who cant have a good guestimate at timescales doesnt know enough to be doing it. By the way when I started out I did six weeks work making sliding sashes and made £400 profit in total! That was a painful lesson learnt. Always expect the worst and price accordingly. My day rates are on a bit of a sliding scale from £100 close family to £300+digs money+parking central london.
