Desperate novice needing advice on how to remove this kitchen light fitting.

It twists and turns, but I can't see how it comes apart. I saw a youtube guide that suggest the centre circle covers a bolt/screw that will undo.

However, this appears to be part of the moulded part of the plastic and doesn't come out of the centre.

Other than taking a hammer to it - I am at a loss as to how to get it off the ceiling and replace it with something a little prettier.

    Thank you in advance

Pop the centre plug out and you will find a screw. Switch off the power and undo it.

NOTE: Take a picture of the electrical connections before you remove it.

The screw cover cap in the centre of the base plate needs removing - it should just flick out.

I Comlec - it doesn't seem to want to come out - like it's part of the moulded plastic of the rest of the fitting

I shall give it another go and advise/

You’re a genius! Took me 10 minutes to get it moving but it did eventually move.
    Thank you for your help

Thank you, but do not confuse genius with just plain old experience.
