Hello, My 1950's house has wood backed cork floor tiles. If they were sound I would be able to lay laminate or vinyl over them but quite a few are loose. They were set in pitch. Taking them all up is OK but would leave a 5/8" gap below the skirting boards. I suppose I could get the blowlamp out and melt the pitch but I hope there are better ways. I did try solvent based gripfix but that does not seem to work. Whatever I use needs to be thin enough to keep the floor level. I would love suggestions about an adhesive to stick the loose ones back down.
As you are overlaying the existing floor with laminate you can pretty much use anything to stick the loose tiles down, they are going nowhere. I would advise you take the skirting off though.
Use Everbuild 908 DPM for sticking tile back down, from competitor Ref 10290 Will serve purpose as a adhesive & a dpm. https://www.everbuild.co.uk/product/908-dpm/ +1 for removing skirting make job easier & neater.
