Is there anywhere where I can get a couple of the older style square MK Switch Fuse plates. I am trying to match the existing plates in my Kitchen without replacing the lot with the new style.

I also need a couple of the older style push button Wylex MCB's; 30A or 32A and 40A or 45A.

If any of you have these kicking around, I would be happy to pay a fair price and postage

Wylex still make modern direct equivalents to their old plug in type MCB's, but they have levers on the front now, instead of buttons, you should be able to get them from better electrical wholesalers.

    Evenin' W.N.

Why you putting in older circuit breakers? you on about the BS 3781's which are replaced by 60898's

They will probably look ok to match what you got,but make sure you know the history of where they have come from and have not interupted a higher breaking capacity than what they were desigend to.

The push button 3871's had a PSC of 3KA anything higher than this will render the internal mechanics N.F.G.

So make sure there ok m8

    SF

P.S. I changed a CU the other day and that was an 8 way wylex board with push button cb's,but lobbed the lot as I cannot use them on someone else's installation because, well,I aint supposed to.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the suggestions...

Big All, I can only rob one from the Living room. We built this house in '76 when Bldg regs insisted that you have a 3KW electric fire point in the Living room despite having CH! I have already put a single S/S on that outlet so I could replace the FSU with a 20A switch. p.s. Are you somewhere in the West of Scotland? I can see Rothsay from my window.

MB, Yes, the lever MCB is an option. I may replace the whole lot if I can find a full set.

    S. Sifi, Thanks for the caution... I am considering replacing all of the MCB's if I can get a full set. The push button ones are a pain because it is easy to bump the board and trip them. I fitted a recesses bar across the trips to avoid this hazard 28 years ago! Tey have done well.

CPW, If I had better timing I could be a stand-up comic wot! B**r

    Hi again guys,

Are the GE Mini Trips compatible with the Wylex Plug-ins? I noticed that Screwfix stock a 45A GE Mini Trip but the Wylex range only go up to 40A.

Any opinion on which make is the better? I have always trusted Wylex.

b-a-s, Yes, that's what I need but it's going into a woman's domain and to them, shape and size matters! I would put anything in as ling as it had the MK logo on it.
