Depends if you are able/comfortable taking the thing apart to see if there is power getting to the ring.

Which means I have to take the glass panel off to check inside?

Which ever way the hob comes apart...probably either power not getting to the ring, or the ring has gone pop. Else pay someone to come in and fix it. You end up paying for the part anyway.

Sometimes its easy to take these things apart - 2 screws - and sometimes its impossible.

Usually hinged on the back edge, undo the front screws and the whole top lifts up, might even have a stay - like a car bonnet.

FWIW I had an inner ring on my Miele halogen hob stop working.
I found a good YouTube video clip on how to replace it.
I pulled it apart to get the exact part number so I could order a replacement.
I then reassembled it so I could use the other plates, and lo and behold, it was all working perfectly... and has been ever since.
You may get lucky like I did.

Honestly I would either live with it or just bin it and buy a decent induction hob. Not worth the call out charge for hotpoint as in my experience the engineers are universally clueless..

The cheapest the repair charge can buy me a new one although not best one.

Umm. It’s been nearly a year. We thought you’d have fixed it by now!
First point. That’s not an induction hob. Induction hobs do not glow.
Secondly. What are pictures? I can see a hob ring that is energised. That is we what they are do when they are working.

What? Mine is not induction hob? Sorry, so what it is then? Am I a laughing stock now?

Well, I have been known to be wrong, but one of the big benefits of an induction hob is that the cooking areas do not get hot in themselves.
Can you say what the model number is? Then I can put my mind at rest. TIA.

To glow that shade of red, at least that one “ring” is a halogen ring.

There will probably be a sticker on the underside.
or written on the front of the instruction book!

I didn't give your full photo, Hotpoint is printed in the middle the glass, Scott Ceran is printed on the right corner, must be a product of Hotpoint.
