Plastering shower room ceiling using Screwfix No None Sense Ready Mixed Plaster.

What would be best paint for it after plastering?

Shower room has lot of steam and dampness usually, so we keep windows open.

We have some cream coloured Masonry paint, and wondering it is OK to use in the shower room for newly plastered ceiling. Or are there better alternatives?

Acrylic Eggshell paint is tolerant to high humidity and steam.

Will please DA Allsorts immensely if you painted ceiling with masonry paint :)

Don’t forget to fully allow plaster to dry before next stage (painting)

Will take longer in this cold weather, also depending on depth off plaster

Don’t forget to mist coat plaster once fully dry and before using ur paint of choice

Amazing how many forget the mist coat, & use a matt emulsion,NOT vinyl matt.

Give it one mist coat, patch any area's & rub down, then a second mist coat before final finish.

Put 2nd coat on last night. Ceiling plastering is always harder than other plastering, it kills neck and shoulder having to look up and stretch to reach the ceiling from ladder.

This morning after 2nd coat, plaster looks a lot better.

Will give light sanding when fully dry, and then mist coat with Matt emulsion, then Eggshell 2x coat.

Thanks for info and advice everyone. cheers.

I use use a Plaziflex float, has a plastic blade, lighter than my metal float, easier on arms when skimming ceilings.:)
