I am hoping I can avoid retiling a whole bathroom. Is there a way I can successfully paint over existing bathroom tiles to make things look more modern or am I wasting my time? I did try this once before somewhere else years ago and after a few months the special paint started peeling. Am I missing a trick or two?
Don,t do it. Although there are products that can be used to paint over tiles the finish will never be of a high standard. Take the plunge and re-tile the finish will be better all round
Painted tiles look bloody awful abd that's what I always tell my customers who ask about it. However, if you really must do it, clean the tiles with sugar soap to remove any grease etc and use Zinsser before your final colour. This will stick the paint to the tiles
