Hello, just wondering if someone could help me out.

I am new to all things DIY, and recently bought a mahogany fireplace/fire surround with the idea of painting. Only since buying it have I discovered online that mahogany is tricky to paint.

Rather than sand it/have it stripped I've decided to just paint over the original wood and varnish. Im unsure what kind of primer to use for this though, does anybody have any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance

Zinsser BIN or Zinsser Cover Stain, Screwfix stock both.
