    Hi guys,

We are in the middle of decorating and painting over some wallpaper that seems to have been painted with a varnish or a glossy type paint.we thought the emulsion would take to it but it’s taking an age for it to dry and seems to be quite easily scratched, any ideas what a solution would be?

    Thanks in advance

Stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wash it off before it dries.
Paint over it first with Zinsser Bullseye 123 and then emulsion.

A bit for that maybe, a very thin coat has already dried and we are onto the second? Could scrap it off pretty easy I’d think but will be messy?

Exactly what paint have you used so far?

Just a couple of coats of B&Q silk emulsion.

May wash off with a green scouring pad and hot water sugar soap solution as the paint is still fresh.
