Looking at replacing 3 CH rads 600 * 600 size with electric heating as boiler is dead.

Hot water is currently supplied by water heaters at each sink and a gas boiler seems over kill for 3 radiators.

How does the heat output of a 2kw panel heater compare to a 600 * 600 rad ??

Do these things have thermostats to control the room temp ??, can they be left on 247 ??

How do the running costs compare to gas boiler ??

I would be gratefull of any comments

    i think a 600mm x 700mm single rad is equivalant to a 1kw convector heater.

running costs for a 2kw heater..

we pay something like 6pence per kw/hour (check your leccy bill for your cost), so roughly speaking:

    2(kw) x 6(p) x 24(hours) = £2.88 per day max

you might also have economy 7?
