    Hi all

I’ve 55 square meters of parquet to lay, solid oak. Down at the moment are large white ceramic floor tiles. Level flat and not cracked.

the debate is rip them up (huge job huge mess)

or leave them be and use Lecol 5500 over the top. No issue on clearances apart from internal doors that I’ll just take back.

Of all the flooring material to choose solid oak is probably the most troublesome with regards to movement, and destructive with it, so it's on your head what you choose to do. Ask the flooring manufacturer what they would recommend. Personally as much hassle as it is, I'd take the tiles up.
