    Hi all,

I’ve just removed some laminate flooring and trims in a bedroom but accidentally pulled off part of the paint on the skirting boards in the process. I’ve repainted them but as the old paint has been pulled off in some areas, it’s clearly evident and looks a bit naff.

I was going to use wood filler to fill in the gaps but because they’re are so small I think it would be tricky to do.

As such I was wondering if anyone has any advice or if they have come across this problem previously.

    Thanks

Sorry to add this to your thread, but I am new to this page and can’t work out how to start my own!! I need some advice regarding fitting skirting board. The joint to mitre to is an un mitred joint. Our builder has dry lined one wall and as he has dry lined on top of the old skirting the corner that I need to mitre the new writing too will not look neat. Can anyone help!

Typical of a one coat paint with no preparation whatsoever, stripping the rest off and starting again would be far quicker than fluffing about.

What’s best way to strip off wood paint mate?

It will probably peel off without much effort, Duct tape over and pull off or use hot air gun with scraper.

Cheers for that mate - worked a treat! Although it did take a good 2/3 hours for a room after sanding and prepping, the skirting now looks brand new!
