I’m wondering whether anyone can give me some advice about plastering small areas and repairs to walls and doors. I’m using drywall patches to repair the wall after moving switches and also general repairs. I always find that no matter how careful I am with the plaster, it is never disguised after painting. Even if I get the edges completely tapered there is an obvious difference in texture to the finished surface. How do the pros get around this issue?
I am using Toupret and scrim tape and drywall patches.
Is it unrealistic to expect to achieve a perfect finish?
