    Hi all,

I have a number of areas in our dining room where the plaster keeps falling away because of the screw underneath. Normal filler does not seem to work very well.

    Any advice would be welcome.

If the screw isn't tight against the board, then there will be slight moment which will push any filler out.
If the screw can't be tightened, consider adding another one nearby.

Add more screws along. You will cause more popping of the old ones as you go. Fill, sand and paint

That looks like a clout nail rather than a screw, use a hole punch and a hammer to punch it in gently if that's the case, scrape out any loose, little bit of PVA then fill over the top. As per above, add more screws either side first to take up any gap.
