I need to install new plasterboard or cement around a bath before tiling. I’ve not done it before but going to have a go.

For plasterboard, I was going to use green board, tank it then get it tiled. Is this correct? Also, do I need to apply anything to the joints? I read about scrim tape and plaster - required before tiling?

For cement board, do I need the do anything other than put up the sheets? No jointing or tanking?

    Thanks

Plasterboard, you could tank it if you wished but it's not necessary, especially if using green board, make sure the bath is sealed in well. You don't need to do anything to the joints.

Cement board, just fix the sheets. Job done.
