Plastering need help!!

Any one would give me advice would be great. Long story short I’ve skimmed a few walls before with good results I was skimming a wall today when I got the first go on just before I went to flatten in unforeseen circumstances I had to stop so now I have 1 quite Flat skim on which is now gone off! What’s the best approach to carry on leave it a week Seal the wall again then do another 2 Coats ??
