Yeah i think a 1/2" gap under a door might be a bit too much!!

Quite glad a didnt buy one now!

 

it will still work if you can fold the carpet back
much easier than removing a door with painted up screws

I have only used the TS55 but it is a real time saver. However you also need something beefier for construction work unless you want to burn it out.
