In the past, I've been critical of Poole counter, but yesterday I was pleasantly surprised. I needed a few items for a DIY job & as I was in the area I decided to call in. Everything I wanted was in stock & the sevice was excellent. The only hold-up was caused by an old gentleman telling the assistant how long his cordless battery had lasted.....I'm not ageist...I have a bus pass myself. Poole has certainly gone up in my estimation & I can only hope that Weymouth will be as good.
Leaky give 'em a break. I've found Poole not too bad but the battle will soon be on as I see that the mighty T*lstatin are soon to be opening up in Parkstone.
Leaky give 'em a break. I have tried, several times and Oh Boy! is it frustrating! Still I can use the Trade Depot on the same site and that seems to work well. Anyway Tam I thought you were in Aberdeen?
Origins/Family and therefore frequent bits o' work near Inverness. But yours truly based in South for last several years.
....and I have relatives in Nairn, near Inverness. We go and vist them once or twice a year. Lovely spot when the weather is nice
40 years ago, I was working that way in April/May, installing flight simulators at Kinloss & Lossiemouth. The weather was lovely most of the time, but one day we had 4 inches..Inches, not cms...of rain in one afternoon...We were rained off, even though we were working inside !!! :^O
Yea why not, Trade Depot, Screwfix, all owned by Kingfisher. So lets line their pockets & be smug at the same time?
I was chatting to a mate of mine who is a buyer at B&Q, he tells me that Trade Depot is just an experiment, if it does not work they will be shut down/closed. Trade Depot, Screwfix Trade Counters and the new B&Q Trade Discount Card are all ways to try and increase the Kingfisher share of the trade "GETIT_DONE_FORYOU" market because the DIY market is contracting.
One of the guys in the Trade Depot at Poole basically said the same, it seems to be a three pronged attack to get more trade business.
I was passing through Poole today so I stopped off at the Trade Depot/Screwfix site near the Makro at about 10.00am - I think I was the only person on site! The staff seemed very bored !
