Potential Shower Leak?

    Hi all,

Since moving into my ground floor flat I discovered a leak that came from the ensuite bathroom, whereby water was leaking out into the adjoining room's walls whenever the shower was used.

When inspecting the problem in May last year, I noticed that the grouting around the shower tray was completely shot so re-sealed this and found no further issues since. I couldn't re-decorate the hallway due to other health issues at the time.

At the start of November this year, the adjoining rooms were all re-decorated as part of an insurance job, because the flat above mine had a leak which damaged my own flat at Easter.

The damaged areas from the ensuite shower leak were all treated with two coats of stain blocker and then 2 coats of fresh paint. Looked terrific but as of this morning, I have noticed a problem in the hallway again, in the exact same place where the stain blocker and paint was applied. I have checked the walls of the rooms on the other sides of the cubicle and everything looks spot on.

I have been regularly using the ensuite shower for 2 weeks now, so pretty much every other day.

Here are some links to some pictures I took this morning:

Directly behind this wall in the picture is the shower cubicle. The taps/controls for the shower are on a different wall. I've gone over the tiling with a fine tooth comb and found no obvious cracks other than one hole (about 1mm in size) at the same height as where the staining is on the other side of the wall.

Could a hole this size lead to this kind of staining? Or is there something far more sinister at play? I appreciate it is a daft question as I know from experience that water leaking can be unpredictable. i am just trying to set my mind at ease.

    Thanks,

    Jamie
