I have a potterton pro max combi boiler which when the central heating is off gives a pressure reading of 1-1.5.

If the heating is switched on this drops to 0.9 - 1 and returns to the original 1.5 when the heating is switched off.

Im concerned that something is not quite right as i have always assumed that the pressure should increase with heat?. I do not believe that the system is losing overall pressure as the reading doesn't seem to drop over time.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

    Kind Regards

Should be fine. Its about the same as my system. I have to top my one up once a year, but this is just down to evaporation.

On some potterton boilers the pressure does drop a bit when the pump comes on.
    Nothing to worry about

Many boilers use the pressure drop when the pump comes on to check for the pump running.
