power flushing.

  1. Is it safe to powerflush a system that has plastic pipe work upstairs. All the fittings used are Quality with double seals and locking rings on them.In case you want to know why its upstairs,The radiators were moved of the inside walls to the windows,so plastic was used at the time as it was easier to uncoil under floor boards.

As long as the pipework and joints are sound there is no reason why a powerflush would do them any harm. These machines don't use high pressure to clean they use a high flowrate.

  3. Yeah thanks for that. The pipe work was put in 6 months ago but the guy has been told by BG that it needs flushing due to iron oxide present.Whats this?Is it just a posh name for rust.

As long as the original p;umbing is sound powerflushing does not pose a problem. Pf increases the flow not the pressure, so in the majority of cases it does not cause a leak problem.
