    Hi,

I've ripped out my old bathroom and want to have my new bathroom room completely tiled. The walls are brick with plaster on so the removing the tiles has damaged the plastering leaving holes everywhere where the adhesive was (as i would expect)

whats the best/most cost effective way to prepare the walls ready for re-tiling?

complete replaster? just re-board the bathroom?

    all advice appreciated

    Thanks

I've just been through this process, in places the walls were back to brick. Best bet in my opinion is to get a good plasterer (spread) in, that way you have the best surface for tiling.

You want the walls flat and level, especially if you're thinking of having largish tiles.

And you don't want the plasterer to smooth the plaster out to a polish...leave it on the rough side.
