Priming/Satin advice needed please!

    Hi,

We’ve recently painted all our woodwork and now it’s peeling EVERYWHERE!

We sanded and cleaned the old gloss/varnish everywhere before priming, then used Dulux Quickdry Primer & Undercoat which seemed to have good reviews, and then Satined on top. We’ve used some oil based satins and some water based (just depending on colours we wanted really) and it’s peeling off everywhere!

We’ve accepted it’s all going to need sanding/stripping off and starting again, but can anyone advise what we can do to stop it happening again please??

Is it the primer/undercoat we used or should we have done something else?

We aren’t exactly first time DIYers but we’ve never had this issue before!

    Thanks

we moved into a house everything was oil based paint.

before they left the coated everything with water based paints, which peeled, you could sweep the paint off with a brush.

I ended up sanding and using zinsser primer. which then took a new coat of water pretty well

I might have to try that primer then! We thought as we’d sanded it it would be fine - learned our lesson the hard way!
