Hi I've had a new Worcester boiler ,which is going ok , but its got a really old thermostat element in top of the immersion tank ( prob wants replacing ) but works least I think it does as I use it flip switch on when we have solar and it heats boiler to some degree , never had top off before but now see what looks like the stat pointer is pointing to about 45 am I right in thinking the arrow should be on the 60 ?? or is it the other end , fraid i know nothing about these , as we only use it occasionally

Increase it gradually 5 degrees at a time & test it out for a few days.
Old thermostats are unpredictable & at 60 degrees it could be steaming.
