Push Plug Housing Snapped and Stuck in Plug Hole

Our push plug in the bath has snapped and now the bath wont drain properly and I can’t get the bottom half out because it’s sitting almost flush with the part of the plug hole it’s screwed into. Any ideas how I can get the bottom half out?

I’ve posted a couple of pics with one showing a red line roughly where I think it has come apart. Tried gripping it with some pliers from the top but there’s just not enough purchase to be able to unscrew it

1. Fitting a new waste, per terrymac, would probably be best in the long term.
2. As a short term measure you might try:
2.1 Hammering (lightly) the tang of a file into the hole to give something to grip on and unscrew. Be aware that files are very brittle, so don't apply too much turning force.
2.2 Using an "easyout" designed for removing snapped studs / bolts. They are expensive (the cheap ones are generally rubbish) and you need to know the hole size before buying unless you buy a complete set.
