I just put a memory stick into a USB port on my laptop and it says it is in USB Drive G when I then put another memory stick into the same USB port it said USB Drive D.Four memory sticks said USB Drive D and three said USB Drive G.Surely they should all be the same or am I wrong.
Paul, its not the USB port on your laptop that is designated the drive letter, its the USB device you're plugging in that Windows (10 I'm assuming) assigns the drive letter to. Each USB Storage device has an ID number, which the OS (Windows) recognises and can remember so that whenever you plug that device back into the laptop/computer, it uses the same drive letter.
