I'm current removing about 50m2 of floor tiles in preparation for solid wood flooring.

As I'm taking each tile up the grout is left behind and therefore leaves about a 2mm or so uneven surface. Will I get away with just putting a decent underlay down such as Sonic Gold and then the solid wood flooring (15mm depth) on top, or will I have to chip away at this grout :/ I thought about using a self levelling compound but that will be really tricky as its all open plan and I can't clear the area of furniture.

Thanks in advance for your help
