    Hi all,

I started removing latex paint from my wall. It turns out there are a few layers of paint underneath, gypsum plaster layer, another paint, another gypsum plater and proper cement plaster as can be seen in the pictures.

How far do I need to remove existing layers? I would like to repaint it using water based paint. Do you think that if I remove only two top paint layers (greenish and dark gray) and expose first plaster I could stop there?

Another question is about a bit of a hole in the wall. I had recently windows replaced and at some places wall was damaged. If I know on it I can hear hollow sound. Should I remove hollow parts and replaster it?

    Thank you a lot,
    Andrew
