Wonder if anyone could offer some advice. As I'm a complete amateur and have bitten off wayyy more than I can chew with my project. I have hollowed out the chimney breast and I'm going to insert a frame of 3x2 and then add plaster board and plaster over them to make display cabinet.
The question is what is best to cover the walls with before the plaster, and any issues with only rendering the outward facing brick work and leaving the internal (inside the chimney breast) alone? As I'm going the be putting and frame in and boxing it, it won't be seen. So I figure why make more work for myself.
Render (if render does the brick exposire to soot ect mean I should add lime)
Or
Hardwall
Any input would be greatly appreciated
