Can anyone recommend what type of paint to use for repainting a large external wall of timber cladding with aged flaky paint. Assume sand down, primer & repaint but what is the best paint for this job. We are repainting outside of an aged sports and social club so good results required for minimal outlay.

In that situation I'm a fan of Johnstone's quick dry opaque wood finish. I've done acres of cladding with it, it goes on well, protects the wood well and lasts, holds it's colour too. It can be used without a primer too. Just make sure you get your rubbing down done well to give it a good surface and off you go.

By the way, the data sheet says brush it but it also rollers well and goes through a 517 nozzle at 1500psi perfectly too.
