Replacement of wooden louvre and airbrick with extractor fan

    Hi there.

I have recently had the wooden slatted vent on my bathroom wall removed (apparently called a louvre) and replaced with a humidistat extractor fan.

The fan vents to an air brick on the other side.

I am having real problems with fan running constantly (despite being turned upon to 90% RH).

I am now wondering whether the installation might be to blame.

Should the extractor fan be installed with an airbrick? This seems unusual - every other installation I have seen, is vented via a long round tube with a vent on the end.
