Replacing cooker for built in oven / hob.... housing advice.

So looking to replace the cooker with built in oven and hob.

My thinking is i have room for a 600mm base unit (space measures 630mm) .. so oven in there, hob on top.
What i'm unsure is sizing?

600mm is that the external width, so that if the carcass is 15mm thick, i need to find an oven that is 600mm - (2 x 15mm) = 570mm?

Or the cavity of a 600mm base unit is 600mm, so i look for an oven 600mm wide?

This is the housing i'm looking at, have to get the replacement worktop from there also.

Also it looks as if there is a bottom space in the housing between the oven and legs - is it possible to utilise this as a space for baking trays, by converting the fascia to a drop-down door, or is the space there for a reason?

Many Thanks.

Just buy a built in single oven. It may be listed as 600 wide but it will fit into the base unit you have linked too.
Drawer will be very shallow if you opt for one.

Howdens do a BUOH with a pullout drawer that goes the full depth of the plinth. Bit of a pain to fit perfectly but if you're keen on under oven storage it's an option.

All ovens are the same width so there's no issue there.

If your gap is 630mm you'll need to cut two filler pieces either side of the housing. You may be able to fit 2x 16mm end panels in the gaps if your opening is 632mm

Cheers,

I believe Howdens are trade only though. Although i'm not trade I have a Wickes Trade Pro account but don't think i can use that to blag a purchase from them.

I'm fortunate that I've got a freestanding tumble dryer next to the oven, and then it's a corner, so i can butt up the tumble to the housing if there is a little gap with no problem.

Decided i want a self-cleaning oven, and an induction hob, so going hardwired on both appliance and getting a dual appliance outlet plate to hook them up - shame Screwfix don't have these, but there's a TLC nearby.

I may have a search and see if anyone else sell a BUOH with drawer online then if they exist.

Thanks again

Can I have a related question to you?
I want to replace the electric freestanding to the built in one. Can I buy an ordinary hob cabinet and a worktop to fit hob and cooker in? There will be cupboard on one side and an empty space on the other side.

You're doing the exact same thing as the OP so all answers are the same.

You need :
Built under oven housing
Worktop
Plinth
End/filler panels

I would also consider your electrical connections for the appliances.
For me being that i have a cooker outlet already there, i'm buying one of these and getting appliances that need to be hardwired - which is pretty much standard on the induction hobs, and pyrolytic ovens.
