Resilient Bars?

    Anyone used These things before and do they
    make a worthwhile difference to soundproofing?

    Would you also soundproof between the joists also
    for extra effect or is that an unecessary expense?

    yes they work because the plaster boards are screwed to the bars and not the joists.

    I use them alot in flats where sound proofing is a concern

    Costains found to there costs if you dont use the proper materials when sound proofing . It will come back and bit you on the b-m . Back in 1997 Costains were converting a disused waterside warehouse at wapping on the thames . My client had brought a shell to fit out himself. One day they knocked on his door with a mega amount of this sound proofing gear for us to install . They were also ripping apart finished occupied flats. All because they tried to cut corners. When paying the money these people were paying you dont expect to here every conversation from next door as we did .
