I found ouit that the new log cabin I bought from Dunster House does not come with any roof felt. I am thinking of using roof shingles. Has anyone got experience of fitting shingles. Are they bett longer lasting than traditional felt. I have found this company that seems to be a lot cheaper than other:www.katepaluk.co.uk

I did my large double garage roof, workshop and Summer house roofs in Shingles.

It was pretty straightforward really, and I would recommend them. The garage has been done the longest (11 years) and still looks good.

One tip I will give you is, line the roof with roofing underfelt first. Although it did'nt say to do this in the instructions that came with the shingles, I wanted to be extra certain that the shingles would last a long time and the underfelt just gave me that peace of mind.
